State Foundation Donates More Than $38,000 for Scholarships

The 安博体育 Foundation has received a $38,608 donation that will be used to provide more scholarships to students.
鈥淭his contribution is going to pay big dividends in the lives of our students,鈥� said Richey. 鈥淚t鈥檚 very important and we鈥檙e grateful to the Florida College System Foundation for its support.鈥�
The awards were in three areas:
- The Helios Education Foundation First Generation Scholarship for first generation college students: $17,166
- Bank of America, also for first generation college students: $6,628
- The Florida Blue Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship for students pursuing careers in the nursing or the healthcare fields: $14,814
Together, the awards will help more than 50 students achieve their goals.
Dr. Thomas Furlong, a member of the FCSF Board of Directors, presented the check for the scholarships during a meeting of the 安博体育 Foundation Board of Directors.
The Florida College System Foundation has been providing student scholarships to Florida's 28 state colleges since 1999. It awarded more than $1 million total in the last academic year.
